Zebra 2 - TB 303 Acid Sound
In This Video, Zebra 2 – TB 303 Acid Sound I show you how to create something close to the classic TB303 acid sound made famous in the late 80`s but highly utilized in all areas of E.D.M today.
This is a very basic patch (but still sounds great). We use 1 Oscillator with a sawtooth waveform and one V.C.F (Voltage Controlled Oscillator) using a Low Pass setting (LP).
The Envelopes decay and sustain settings are very important here and used properly help carve out the appropriate length for a fine snappy acid tone/note.
We also add a shaper to add extra bite, but not too much, its already a little snappy!!
The “acid” type sound is created by using a high resonance setting in the filter and modulating the cutoff using an envelope as well as a G.L.F.O (Global Low Frequency Oscillator) in Zebra 2`s Matrix.
In Zebra 2 – TB 303 Acid Sound the G.L.F.O modulates the filter over a period of 8 bars which adds even more depth and movement, and in-turn, interest to the overall sound.
Finally we add effects such as Delay to add additional rhythmic effects, E.Q for more snappiness in the high end and rev for an overall width and space.
