Zebra 2 - Simple Snare Template
In this Zebra 2 – Simple Snare Template tutorial we use an FMO (frequency modulation oscillator), Noise generator and an XMF filter to create an easy and quick snare template patch.
In this Zebra 2 – Simple Snare Template tutorial we use an FMO (frequency modulation oscillator), Noise generator and an XMF filter to create an easy and quick snare template patch.
We use the FMO to create an initial deep tone then by adding modulation from the envelope controlling the tune parameter we start to mold the click part of our snare patch.
We also use an MSEG to create an attack (or percussive) envelope which we use to further mold the sounds initial attack section.
Using this MSEG (Multi-Stage-Envelope-Generator) on the volume parameter we get the sound nice an clicky.
The envelopes are utilizing the v-slope function to get really quick envelope shapes.
The next thing we do in Zebra 2.5 – Simple Snare Template is add the noise oscillator/generator. We also use the MSEG to control the volume parameter of the noise generator to get that splashy noise tail end of a basic snare drum.
We finally add effects and mix all the levels together to get a great Snare template.
