Zebra 2 - Simple Clap Template
In this Zebra 2 – Simple Clap Template tutorial we use 2 Noise Generators (oscillators?), A V.C.F (Voltage Controlled Filter), Distortion and several effects to give us a unique clap template.
Initially in this Zebra 2 – Simple Clap Template we use Noise to get the initial familiar sound of a “digital” clap.
We also modulate some settings on the noise oscillator with an MSEG (multi-stage-envelope-generator) to add the initial click. We can call this a percussive envelope as it basically only adds attack to the sound.
The envelopes are utilizing the v-slope function to get really quick envelope shapes as well as secondary modulation with the normal envelope settings for further modulation.
The next thing we do in Zebra 2 – Simple Clap Template is add another noise oscillator/generator to complete the initial thump and “splashiness” of the clap sound.
In the final section of the main sound design part of this Zebra 2.5 – Simple Clap Template tutorial we add some distortion and a filter to round the sound off.
Finally we add effects, consisting of Chorus, E.Q, some delay and reverb which gives us our finished digital clap template.
Look out for further percussion tutorials coming very soon, enjoy.
