Zebra 2 - Shimmering Pad
In this Zebra 2 – Shimmering Pad Tutorial, I show you how to adapt the Pad Template we created in an earlier video tutorial to create a Shimmering Pad type sound.
The point of this video is to show you that having a template helps to create sounds very quickly and easily leaving us time to get on with the serious business of making tunes.
In Zebra 2 – Shimmering Pad we add a third oscillator and utilize one of the Oscillator Module Presets (Bells Flipper) for a metallic/glassy sounding patch.
We then mix on all 3 oscillators to get a level sound.
Adjusting the Envelopes to get a smoother envelope shape for our modulation purposes we finally get a nice smooth envelope which, in-turn leads to a nice smooth sound.
Next we start to add Vibrato on each Oscillator to give the sound a shimmering effect. We add another LFO to readjust for LFO1 (which is in-fact the Vibrato LFO by default) being used incorrectly (my bad) in the initial Pad Template.
I use a basic chord progression to let you hear how the Pad sounds in this type of movement and even let you hear with a kick and bass behind it.
The Zebra 2 – Shimmering Pad tutorial is straight forward and to the point with a few wanderings of the path (distractions for me) but we get there in the end and end up with our nice overall shimmering pad in no time at all.
