Zebra 2 - 3 Oscillator Sound
In this Zebra 2 – 3 Oscillator Sound – we use 3 oscillators to create a large sawtooth sound (not unlike a Super Saw). We use a VCF (Voltage Controlled Filter) to tidy the sound up and for modulation purposes we use an MSEG (Multi-Stage-Envelope-Generator).
In Oscillator 1 we use the Dual settings which allows us to detune the sound for depth and width. We also use a couple of Oscillator effects for further enhancement.
Oscillator 2 is a saw wave also but set to QUAD this time for an even bigger, wider sound. Again we use the oscillator effects to add higher harmonics and bite to the sound.
The 3rd oscillator is set to Dual again and this time we only use 1 oscillator effect as required. This sound is deeper than the other 2 (its still a saw wave) and adds some growl in the bottom end.
In this Zebra 2 – 3 Oscillator Sound tutorial the final aspect of the sound is a Band Pass (BP) filter to tidy up the sound and give it is final edginess and refinement.
Finally we create the MSEG modulation envelope and add it to all 3 oscillators to give the sound its sequence. We also add delay and reverb for space and depth.
All in all Zebra 2 – 3 Oscillator Sound tutorial is a great way to get a big sound and easy sequencing using the MSEG – Excellent for you trance heads out there.
