Richie Hawtin new album - Preview
Richie Hawtin in his new Berlin studio offering a preview of his new album.
Richie Hawtin maintained a strong catalogue of releases over the years, principally under his artist project name ‘Plastikman”.
Plastikman Live is an awesome experience, every albums recorded under this name approach techno music from a very different angle than a pure dance floor point of view.
He tells how uncomfortable he felt with previous places in Berlin where he wanted to install his music production environment.
Looking at his screen in the beginning of the video and after, some synth gear secrets are already revealed…
He used Roland gear, JD-800, TB-303, Aira TR-8 & TB-3, a Nord Lead 4, a Doepfer MAQ 16/3, a Novation Launchpad, Ableton Push, what looks to be a Sequentix Cyrklon sequencer and a couple of other tools.
He recorded with Pro Tools.
He’s talking about his productive process, how he can stop an idea but use components out of it for a new track.
Very interesting interview with one of the leading name of today’s electronic music worldwide scene.
