Ableton custom remote scripts
Ableton remote scripts – Instant MIDI control of Ableton Live
Ableton Live comes loaded with scripts allowing perfect integration of a MIDI controllers defined list.
It is the case for MIDI controllers such as the Akai APC20 / APC40, Behringer BCF and BCR 2000, Novation Launchkey or Launchpad, Evolution UC33 just to name a few.
Many manufacturers like Native Instruments and their famous “Maschine” will provides you with a script to install.
But sometimes, your MIDI controller will be not listed by Ableton Live as a recognised one and the manufacturer will not provides you either with a pre-configured script.
In this case, you’ll have to write your own.
No worries, a simple text editor and a bit of patience is all you need.
These remote scripts are highly important because with them, you can dynamically map your MIDI controller to your software synthesizers and effects.
Ableton was kind enough to provides the two files needed in order to create your script :
InstantMappings-HowTo
UserConfiguration
By carefully following each step described in the file “InstantMapping-HowTo”
You will edit the file “UserConfiguration” the right way in order to use your MIDI controller in a dynamic mapping.
