Sylenth Master Filter Tips and Tricks
In this tutorial, Echo Sound Works walks through the Sylenth master filter section and how to use it properly.
The Sylenth master filter is where, in my opinion, a lot of the magic happens. Lets face it, Sylenth is a fairly limited soft synth when it comes to filter types and settings. Your only options are lowpass, bandpass and highpass. The Sylenth master filter though, allows you to expand the sound of each filter by quite a bit.
The Sylenth master filter section allows you to control the settings like the cut off frequency or resonance of Filter A or B with just one knob. This is useful because it allows for quick modulation, automation and even allows you the freedom to sculpt your sound without fear of making it worse.
One of the coolest features in the Sylenth master filter section is the Keytrack knob. This basically tunes the cut off frequencies by pitching them to the key or keys being played.
