In this tutorial, Echo Sound Works shows you how to make a EDM slap bass in Sylenth that’s perfect for a lot of genres including EDM, Pop and even Hip Hop.
A lot of EDM producers will use a digital sounding slap bass to spruce up the low end of their tracks. You can make slap styled basses in soft synths, with good results! This EDM slap bass in Sylenth is a good candidate for that type of sound.
It’s a fairly basic sound to create. You are need to blend a Saw and a Triangle wave together with one more oscillator contributing some noise. To make this EDM slap bass in Sylenth sound slappy, you have to do two things:
1.) In the 2nd modulation envelope apply some Pitch A/B modulation to add the snap to the sound.
2.) Make sure you boost the phase of the Triangle waveform until you hear a more slap styled tone.
