Learn How To Make a Hardwell Lead Sound in Sylenth
In this tutorial, learn how to create a Hardwell lead sound in Sylenth. It’s perfect for multiple genres of EDM and could even work with hip hop!
Hardwell has come up with some pretty cool lead sounds in the past few years. This Hardwell lead sound in Sylenth was inspired by Years Ft. Matthew Koma. Typically, his sounds are big and detuned, but they don’t always use a Saw waveform. If you changed the voicing to 1 and made this sound Monophonic, it would even work with Trap and Hip Hop!
This Hardwell lead sound in Sylenth only uses 2 oscillators using a QPulse and Saw waveform. It is very important to uncheck the RETRIG button on both Oscillators A1 and A2. For this type of sound, it helps to create some analog inconsistencies with the sound. Keeping the RETRIG button checked would make every note sound the same.
To get the detuned nature of the Hardwell lead sound in Sylenth, I used an LFO to modulate the Pitch of Part A. This adds a very analog feeling and makes the sound a little more interesting.
