Expressive EDM Lead in Sylenth

Learning the bread and butter sounds a synth is capable of is one of the most important parts of sound design. Yes, you could make a similar sound in another soft synth, but it wouldn’t sound as good so quickly. This expressive Electro lead in Sylenth is a great sound for a lot of genres.

It uses all four Oscillators, one serving as a noise generator. It’s crazy, but I didn’t even change the stereo or detune settings at all on any of the Oscillators. Just by increasing the voice count in Sylenth, you can create really wide sounds!

One of my favorite aspects about working in Sylenth is that I don’t have to use a lot of third party processing to get mix ready sounds. I used only a few effects for this Electro lead in Sylenth just to strengthen an already strong sound.

The Pitch AB modulation really helps bring it to life, by adding some very present attack to the sound. You can really make the sound more expressive by assigning an Mod Wheel to a destination like the Filter Cut Off.
