In this tutorial, Echo Sound Works will show you how to make a punchy EDM kick in Sylenth1 and how you can quickly turn the kick into a Hardstyle Bass.
This punchy EDM kick in Sylenth1 takes only a few minutes to create and is actually a pretty versatile sound. Depending on how you dial in the settings in the MOD ENVELOPES, you could easily create a kick sound that will work with a few different genres like trap, EDM and even Hardstyle.
To create an EDM kick in Sylenth1, it’s usually a good idea to stack up some sine waves tuned really low. Most body sections of any kick in EDM will be made of a sine wave. It’s what creates that low end! You don’t have to use both pages, Part A and Part B, to get a good sounding EDM kick in Sylenth1.
For Filter types, you could apply a Low Pass and turn the Cut Off up all the way or have no filter at all.
The most important steps in creating an EDM kick in Sylenth1, is to use the MODULATION ENVELOPES to modulate the decay of the pitch. This will dictate whether the sound is a sub bass or kick.
Finally, by adding a good amount of Clip Distortion you can quickly turn your EDM kick into a Hardstyle bass!
