Breath New Life Into Outdated Sylenth Sounds
Echo Sound Works shows you how to breath new life into outdated Sylenth sounds. Perfect for resurrecting an old soundset!
We’ve all probably got hundreds if not thousands of Sylenth presets and banks. At this point, I feel it’s a safe bet to make that there are more Sylenth sounds out there than any other synth. Maybe Massive would be a close second.
But what happens when a soundset becomes outdated? You can apply these tips and tricks to breath new life into almost any Sylenth sound.
To apply these ideas to almost any sound, just be aware what makes a current sounding bass, lead pluck or whatever it may be so you have a good place to start. With this lead for instance, I added some LFO modulation to give it more depth and movement, which seems to be in at the moment in Progressive. But most times, all it will take are a few MOD ENVELOPES active, maybe an interesting effect or two and some performance modulations. Remember, Sylenth only has so many waveforms so the creative side of sound design in it happens elsewhere!
Check out the video to hear how you can improve Sylenth sounds that may feel outdated!
