Better Main Room Leads In Sylenth
Main Room leads in Sylenth are pretty straight forward to make. There are a couple things you can do to set yourself up for success more often.
I would define the current Main Room scene as having drops that use a lead which will play just a few notes or one note over and over. Usually a Main Room lead will be monophonic.
I decided to make a list of of some simple steps that make your Main Room leads in Sylenth sound fuller.
1.) Set a higher than normal release point in the AMP ENV – this will give something for a side chain compressor to grab. It also helps fill any gaps between notes.
2.) Modulate the Cut Off with a MOD ENV – this is an important one. Depending on how you do this, your Main Room leads in Sylenth will sound like the Animals pluck or a big supersaw sound. It also helps to know how you intend to play your drop.
3.) Gated reverb – You can do this inside of Sylenth (TEMPO SYNC REVERB SYLENTH) or you can use a third party plugin like I did in this video. Don’t skip this step as it really helps fill out the lead!
