Better Leads With Phase Vibrato in Sylenth
In this tutorial, Echo Sound Works shows you how to make better leads with Phase vibrato in Sylenth. A very popular effect in EDM!
Vibrato is defined as a rapid and slight variation in pitch. Sylenth doesn’t have a built in vibrato effect but you can create it by modulating the pitch with an LFO. However, there is another interesting effect, Phase vibrato in Sylenth, that can really thicken up a lot of sounds.
It sounds a bit like vibrato but it isn’t actually changing the pitch it is modulating the phase of your waveform(s). Phase vibrato in Sylenth will also get that sound you here EDM artists like Zedd and Calvin Harris use with their lead sounds.
It’s really simple to set up. Modulate PHASE AB in the first or second LFO. For monophonic leads, use quicker rates and keep it on a sine shape. For polyphonic sounds it helps to use a little slower rates.
Combining a slow Phase vibrato lead with a fast one is a great way to thicken up a section of a mix.
