A free standalone app (OS X) to record samples from your modular synthesizer.
Quite a useful tool if you’re planing to make a collection of sounds from your modular synthesizer.
I made this project for myself but, since a couple of friends showed some interested, I thought I’d share it with you guys.
This is a super simple standalone app (only Mac for now) made in Max and it serves a single purpose: record one shots samples from the modular.
It works by sending triggers to 2 selectable outputs of your interface (which should be connected to an ES-3 or similar) and immediately recording a signal coming from a selectable input (I might add an option, in the future, to start recording based on amplitude so you can trigger your modular externally).
You can also define for how long it’ll record the sample (default is 1000ms).
After you record the sample, you can crop it and export it as an audio file.
It may sound a lil bit complicated but, once you get the hang of it, you can start recording and exporting tons of samples really fast.
