Just light up the live-recorded drum loops on Oxy-Beats and listen as they add heat and style to otherwise dull kicks, snares, and hats. These drum rhythms run tight with Pop, Latin, or Afro grooves and shimmer just enough to emulate that live drum kit sound. The drums were mixed from a drummer’s perspective, with recording techniques handed down by production wizard, Eddie Kramer. Authentic approaches include kick drum tunneling, large-diaphragm condenser mics, tons of various interval stereo room mics, and the use of the stereo ribbon mic at middle distance to provide vintage room tone. You won’t need to do much to Oxy-Beats to fit them perfectly into any composition but you’ll want to do everything.
