SO WHAT EXACTLY DOES THIS PLUG-IN DO?

When you hit a note on your midi keyboard, the plugin creates a tiny loop, at the wavelength of that note. I Wish allows you to freeze your audio in any pitch you like. There are various uses for this plug-in such as creating robotic voice effects, pitched stutter effects, musical drum beats, mind bending ear candies – the possibilities are endless! It can even be used as a polyphonic synthesizer, with real-time wavetable oscillators! This essentially allows you to make music from noise. Comet has 5 preset slots created to take advantage of its advanced morphing capabilities. Using variable gliding controls, you can smoothly transition or “morph” between up to 5 different settings/presets.

REVERB: REIMAGINED

While researching and developing various new prototypes, Comet was stumbled upon by the Polyverse development team. After an initial comparison with other popular and classic reverbs, it was decided that Comet’s algorithm was so unique and beautiful that we needed to share it with the world. Not only that, its versatile sound in all iterations inspired a degree of flexibility unheard of in other reverbs.

SuperModal

Two Become One

At the heart of Supermodal are two powerful filter sections working in tandem. On the left of Supermodal’s interface users will find the Classic Filter, a zero-feedback state variable filter that can morph smoothly between lowpass, bandpass, and hipass filter modes with its ‘Type’ control. It features a fixed slope of 24 db per octave, evoking many well-known analog filters, and is capable of both sweet and chunky filter sounds with the help of a built-in saturation algorithm and input and output controls that allow users to drive it for a fat, musical sound.

To the right of the Classic Filter is Supermodal’s namesake Modal Filter. A ‘meta-filter’ made up of hundreds of resonant bandpass filters, the Modal Filter features 27 different carefully crafted resonation behaviors–or variants– that organize its numerous bands to emphasize various harmonics–known as partials–across the frequency spectrum. These variants are grouped into 9 filter models, which include ‘Vocal Formant,’ with its ‘Ah,’ ‘Ih,’ and ‘Oh’ variants; ‘Struck,’ with ‘Piano,’ ‘Vibraphone,’ and ‘Bell’ variants, ‘Waveform,’ with ‘Saw,’ ‘Square,’ and ‘Hypersquare’ variants, and more. This unique approach to filtering results in transformative sounds unlike anything possible with conventional filtering alone, while ‘Damping’ and ‘Partials’ control allow users to refine the sound of the filter to achieve their desired tonality.

The Classic Filter and Modal Filter are arranged in parallel, combining their outputs for more full-range filtering effects. A ‘Blend’ knob crossfades between them, allowing users to dial in their perfect balance between the two filters’ effects. Supermodal also features a Dry/Wet mix slider, enabling subtler effects that retain some characteristics of the original audio source.

27 SOUND MODELING MODES

The Modal Filter utilizes hundreds of surgically precise bandpass filters to model the resonant bodies of various instruments, objects, waveforms, and more. We created 9 models, each with 3 variations for a total of 27 modes including a range of flangers, phasers, vocal filters, physical and even mathematical modeled resonators. With decay, dampening and partial settings, Supermodal provides fine-tuned control to either subtly or dramatically fashion these unique sonic characteristics into your sound palette.

SHOW STOPPING MANIPULATION

The glamor of Supermodal is fully unveiled when combining its powerful filters with its robust modulation system. The 4 modulation slots offer 6 modulation sources including – Meta knob, ADSR, Envelope follower, Sequencer, MIDI/CV triggers, and Randomizer. You can also cross modulate between slots to create even more intense modulation. Both the State-Variable filter and Modal filter operate in stereo allowing you to modulate the left and right signal independently, together, or separate to deliver awe-inspiring stereo effects. Virtually all parameters in Supermodal can receive modulation.

SVF FILTER WITH FAT NON LINEAR DRIVE

Supermodal’s classic State-Variable filter smoothly blends between high-pass, band-pass and low-pass while working in parallel with the Modal filter. The SVF filter uses a 24dB per-octave slope that is familiar to many classic analog synthesizers, with the ability to boost its resonance to self-resonate. It can be further driven with the Drive feature to add warmth and thicken the signal. Crossfade between the state-variable and Modal filter with its Blend slider for seamless morphing.
