Cinematic Textures and Drones contains 225 exclusive sounds, including long soundscapes, multi-layered musical phrases, huge cinematic impacts and slams, spacey ambiences, deep drones and all kinds of sound effects and soundscapes.
All sounds have been recorded from a wide range of sound sources, including orchestral instruments, field recordings, granular and analogue synthesis with a host of special effects processing.
Cinematic Textures and Drones is organised into 5 separate folders as follows:
• Multi Layered
• Playable Instruments
• Playable Pads
• Risers, Sweeps and Impacts
• Textures and Drones
The “Multi Layered” sounds are made up of various musical and non-musical elements which are separated into component parts. You can use these sounds as they are or take parts of some and mix with others. ‘Playable Instruments and Pads’ are tuned sounds that can be played on a keyboard. Although this pack is not designed to be a musical instrument, these sounds can be played melodically.
The ‘Risers, Sweeps and Impacts’ folder contain all the single sound FX in these categories. Finally, ‘Textures and Drones’ contain a variety of soundscapes, ambiences, in harmonic noises, strange sounds and other sound effects. Every one of these unique sounds has been created with cinema, film score and game sound design in mind, but will work equally well in techno, ambient, drum ‘n’ bass and many other electronic music genres.
As with all Biome Digital sample packs, Cinematic Textures and Drones is 100% royalty free to use in your original musical compositions. The “Multi Layered” sounds are made up of various musical and non-musical elements which are separated into component parts. You can use these sounds as they are or take parts of some and mix with others. These sounds are “time stretched” to remain in sync. There is some audio degradation when playing far from the route key which is always middle C. Sound are recorded at 125 bpm. ‘Playable Instruments and Pads’ are tuned sounds that can be played on a keyboard. Although this pack is not designed to be a musical instrument, these sounds can be played melodically.
The kontakt version of Cinematic Textures and Drones also contains ‘Multi’ patches which are made up of 2 or more individual patches to create new sounds, and ‘Grouped’ patches which have all sounds from each category mapped in a single Kontakt Instrument. This is useful for auditioning sounds quickly across the keyboard and also for layering sounds in the same category.
Modulation
All patches have Mod Wheel assigned to Amp Release and Reverb to extend the release time of the sounds. After touch is assigned to a High Pass Filter and Distortion to give a create effect which adds real grunge to the sounds.
