Course Overview
In Creative Workflows in Logic Pro X you will learn how to capitalize on inbuilt features in Logic Pro X as part of a practical and creative music production workflow.
In this course, Stephen Ellestad walks you through the creative use of a number of these tools, including a look at basic key commands, using Take Folders to build out parts and patterns, and using Logic’s Drummer plugin to generate rhythmic patterns for us elsewhere in your track.
You’ll also learn how to shape sounds and write automation with Smart Controls, and how to use Track Stacks to build interesting and multi-layered instruments. Finally, you’ll learn some basic uses of two of Logic’s most common MIDI plugins – Arpeggiator and Chord Trigger.

About Your Tutor
Stephen Ellestad is a multi-instrumentalist producer, engineer and music educator. He has recorded and performed on bass with a wide range of artists – among them Clyde Stubblefield, Hanah Jon Taylor, Ron Holloway & Merl Saunders – to name just a few.
Alongside his jazz and funk work, Stephen works as a producer and mix engineer at his studio in Northern California, composing instrumental hip-hop, chillout and world influenced downtempo alongside original scores for film & television.
Stephen studied at the Media Institute (Madison, WI) and holds Pro Tools certifications in Music and Audio Post Production. He works extensively in Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Ableton Live Studio, NI Maschine/Komplete and Celemony Melodyne.
