How To Make A Versatile Sub Drop in NI Massive
A sub frequency drop is one of the most commonly heard sounds in electronic music, and with NI Massive and macros you can create one simply and easily.
By modulating the pitch of a Sine wave oscillator, you can create the effect that the track is dropping, which is what it heard in the sub frequencies. By using the Delay parameter within an envelope you can carefully craft the sub drop so that the volume decreases once the drop hits certain frequencies unable to be heard by the human ear.
On top of this you can add FX and distortion to create a more prominent sub drop sound that extends behind the sub frequency range and into the mid range of the spectrum.
