Stereo Processing Tips for Techno Chords in Massive
Learn how to quickly create Techno chords in Massive and how to use stereo processing to make them fit in a mix.
There are some great sounding wavetables for making Techno chords in Massive. In this tutorial, Johnny covers some general guidelines on how to quickly create Techno chords in Massive.
First, you need tune the pitches of the Oscillator’s so they have that Techno sound. You you can either pitch to +-7, +- 5 and +- 3. Using any combo of those should get you a stacked chord sound.
Johnny applies a really useful modulation technique, not just for Techno chords in Massive, that will really help make a sound more interesting and dynamic. Modulating a modulator with a Macro control.
To do that, first modulate a destination like the Filter Cut Off with an Envelope. Then modulate a parameter of that Envelope with a Macro control like velocity. If you do this exact set up, the note velocity will dictate how much filter cut off you hear and the amount of filter cut off is determined by the Envelope.
