In this tutorial, Johnny will show you how to set up a MIDI controller with Massive. Using the controller as a way to control Massive makes composition easier!
If you have a USB keyboard or if you ever wanted to use your MIDI controller with Massive to control automation, this tutorial is for you!
The first thing you want to do to set up a MIDI controller with Massive is click on the FILE tab and click on the Audio/MIDI settings and make sure that the status says “ON” for the controller you are using.
You can then right click on any of the selectable destinations and select MIDI LEARN. The next rotary knob or fader that you move on your keyboard or controller will now be assigned to that parameter.
You can also set up custom parameters to set up your MIDI controller with Massive by going into the OPTIONS tab and then the MIDI tab. You can name them whatever you like for sake of ease.
Ultimately, if you’ve never messed around with Massive’s set up options, you owe it to yourself to try it out because anything that makes composition easier gets my vote!
