Create A Unique Progressive House Lead in Massive
In this tutorial, Echo Sound Works shows you how to create a unique sounding Progressive House lead in Massive. It’s a cool twist on a classic sound.
Sound design is a lot like reinventing the wheel. Every type of sound using wavetable synthesis has pretty much been made. You need to always be finding ways to take a stereotypical sound and make it more unique and your own. This Progressive House lead in Massive is a good example of that.
The bulk of this sound is comprised of Saw waves, but one Oscillator is using a more unique waveform, the Groan III. I also applied some ring modulation to the 2nd Oscillator in the Modulation Oscillator to further introduce some changes to the sound.
If you haven’t messed with the Chorus Ensemble effect, try it on leads and plucks. I used it to thicken up this Progressive House lead in Massive. It also sounds a little different to the ear as most Massive users will tend to grab the Dimension Expander to add width to a sound. Something as simple as loading up a different effect can help make your sound more unique.
