Preset Request Deep House Bass Tutorial NI Massive

We’ve gotten a few requests to do a deep house bass sound in Massive. This tutorial shows you how to make a great chill bass for your drop.

Making a big, yet chill deep house bass sound for your drop can be hard. We got a lot of requests to make this type of sound that you can hear at the 59 second mark DEEP HOUSE EXAMPLE.

Even though I’m pretty sure that the demo deep house bass above was made using some sort of FM synthesis, Massive can still get pretty close. Less is more for this type of preset. I only used two oscillators and one filter. Using the Sine Shaper in the Insert slot is what really helped bring the sound together.

You could definitely apply some third party processing to the sound to get it a little closer to the demo example. Using a detuner/pitch plugin and lowering it by 12 semitones and setting the mix to about 10-20% would help thicken up the sound. You could also route the signal to an AUX send with some light distortion and or a saturation plugin to add some more analog character.
