NI Massive Tutorial from Marco Scherer - Modulation OSC FX
This is another quick and easy NI Massive tutorial from DJ and producer Marco Scherer, this time showing us how to use the Modulation OSC feature to create risers.
Marco is back! And this time he is sharing a little knowledge about the Modulation OSC panel, specifically the Phase Mode feature and how to use it for FX sound design. A lot of people use the features found in the Modulation OSC for very basic functions in their sound design sessions, but they are all actually rather robust, powerful and quite capable of doing much more. Marco quickly walks us through routing an oscillator through the Phase Modulator and then begins to tweak the sound until he finds a good point from which he can build a useful effect.
Modulating both the pitch value of the Phase and the cutoff of the Lowpass filter he is able to quickly generate some interesting sounds. Adding some Synced Delay to the mix widens it up quite a bit and carries the sound much further, smoothing out the fade. He then sets up a Macro control to modulate the rate of the LFO. A simple sound, transformed into a more complex riser effect with just a few easy steps.
