NI Massive Tutorial from Marco Scherer - Creating a Powerchord
Enjoy another great NI Massive video tutorial from popular DJ and Producer Marco Scherer, this time he shows how to make a nice powerchord in just a few minutes.
We welcome Marco Scherer back with another solid NI Massive tutorial, as part of the series of lessons he provided along side his latest release of sound for Massive through Loopmasters a while back.
In this video, Marco shows us how to quickly make a powerchord that can be used in a wide variety of music styles, and can easily be modified to become your own sound. The key to this one is different tuning across the three oscillators generating the sound, as well as the varied wavetable positions. It creates a rich and complex sound that is quite pleasing.
An envelope and an LFO are use to modulate the cutoff of a classic Acid style filter to create some movement and alter the delivery a bit. Some Synced Delay adds a much bigger space for the sound to bounce around in. A macro is assigned to modulate both the resonance and the cutoff of the acid filter to allow for even more range of sound. In the end you have a simple and effective sound that you can quickly enhance to make it fit perfectly into a project of your own.
