Create a unique EDM Pluck in Massive

Making plucks in Massive is pretty straightforward, but making a unique Massive EDM pluck that doesn’t sound like it’s been used a thousand times isn’t as easy.

When I’m making Massive EDM plucks, I like only using one Oscillator. To my ears, this helps make the sound cut through a mix. It will help to use a few voices of Unsiono to help thicken things up a bit. You can also spread the sound out over the stereo field by using the Pan Position slider in the Voicing Tab section.

To add character to this Massive EDM pluck I used the Sample and Hold insert effect. If you do not have a filter activated, the affect of S&H will be minimal, but used in conjunction with a filter (especially Scream) it can create some really interesting sounds.

With this Massive EDM pluck it almost gives it a degraded, bit crushed sound but with a more subtle drive. Couple that with some spacial effects like reverb and delay will help soften everything up and glue it all together!
