Massive Beast V2 Lead and Bass Layering Design
In this tutorial, Echo Sound Works will show you how to make a few sounds from the best selling sound set Massive Beast V2. as well as how to layer basses.
Echo Sound Works gives you an inside look at how he created 3 sounds from the new soundset Massive Beast V2 and how you can layer two distinct bass sounds to create a more unique overall bass patch.
Layering in production has been around since multi tracking was invented. We layer everything nowadays. Vocals, guitars, drums and especially synth patches. I like to layer basses using NI Massive. Typically what I will do is create one instance that will function as the low end foundation and layer that with a more character rich sound. In this tutorial, I used the patch BS GOOD DETUNE from Massive Beast V2 for the low end because it had a good amount of sub frequencies as well as a nice analog vibe. I layered that patch with a very digital sounding preset called BS DIDGIDOO. With a few tweaks, you can see how easy it can be to layer two sounds together for a very unique and interesting sound.
