Make A Simple Ambient Pop Lead in Massive
In this tutorial, Echo Sound Works shows you how to make a simple but effective ambient Pop lead in Massive.
Ambient sounds are all the rage right now in the pop world. Even Taylor Swift’s new album is rife with them. In this tutorial, learn how to make an ambient Pop lead in Massive that would work with other genres like dubstep and even trance.
It’s a really simple sound to make. The ambient Pop lead in Massive uses only one Oscillator. I used a Square Saw wavetable, but you could swap that out for any other one once the sound is made.
The bulk of the sound is created by making two custom envelopes that modulate the cut off filter in different ways. It’s important to use two envelopes, if you only use the ambient Pop lead in Massive won’t sound so “ambient”.
Throw on some spacial FX like reverb and delay and you pretty much have it!
