Sometimes it’s the simple approach to sound design that gets the best results. A lot of the NI Massive tutorials for wobble and dubstep style bass sounds recently have been quite complex. And although these do have a lot of value to the community, there is always time to take s a step back a appreciate the simple power and pure sonic beauty that Massive delivers with very little effort. After all, it is what made us all fall in love with it in the first place!
Touching on only the most essential parameters, YouTube user, and MassiveSynth community member, jeevesificationable shows us how to create a bass that is both nice and nasty in about 90 seconds. It leaves plenty of space for you to add your own special sauce, but what more do you need other than a nice combination of oscillators, a little LFO modulation of the cutoff of a filter, introduce a little phase modulation and add some punch with a Tele Tube amp. He also takes just a second to add some white noise to take the digital edge off of the sound.
All in all, a classic sound made in quick fashion. Ready to drop into a wide range of projects, from dubstep and grime, to electro house and various forms of Drum n’ Bass.
