[aside title=”Super-Funk!”] Add this one to your set and everyone will be up and dancing in no time at all! [/aside]
Dance music and dance parties need something special to keep things going ’till the early hours of dawn and if you look back at the infamous days of disco and all-nite music clubs you will quickly see what it was that had the people movin’ & shakin’ (besides all the drugs).
It was the super funky bass, guitar and synths all working together to create an irresistible match for the rhythm. Put someone who knows what will drive the people crazy in charge of producing these tunes and you have a recipe for some serious fun.
YouTube user SteezTracks is back with another great sound to share with all of us, and as he points out this one is really brought to life by the melody and delivery of notes. This sound is not meant to be used for playing sustained notes, but rather short stabs and catchy hooks. Below are a few words from Steez about this sound and how you can keep with him and all the latest things happening in his world of sounds.
Hope you’ve enjoyed this one! I know this is a sound I will be putting to good use for years to come, after I put my own spin on it of course.
Cheers,

[supertagline] “I love this bass.” ~ Steez [/supertagline]
“It’s a commonly used sound in tracks such as “Satisfaction” and “White Noise/Red Meat” by Benny Benassi and Dada Life. Really, there’s not much to it… but the melody of the bass line is key to really bringing it out in the mix. It’s not a patch to use long, strung-out notes for. It’s quick, punchy, and all around fat. You could also make a bunch of different variations of this type of bass. Just get a solo saw and start distorting it to your ears’ pleasure.
