In this tutorial, Echo Sound Works discusses when to use the various envelope modes in Massive.
Each envelope allows you to designated how it will play through the various ADSR stages. There are essentially three modes and then a variable that you can apply to each mode called linear.
Certain sounds will sound better with certain envelope modes so be sure to play around with these, because sometimes they make a sound a lot better!
