Clean Your Mixes Up With KTR FLT in Massive
Echo Sound Works shows a quick tip and trick using the KTR FLT in Massive that will help you clean and polish your mixes!
The KTR FLT in Massive is a great Keytracking tool which will help create separation in your mixes.
Keytracking is a function that is found in most synths. It literally means that a parameter in the synth is tracking up or down, usually in a linear fashion, as MIDI notes are played. The easiest way to explain this is with pitch. If the pitch of a synth had no Keytracking, as you play keys on a keyboard, the pitch would remain the same.
The KTR FLT in Massive can be found in the middle section of the synth. You will see a diagonal line slanting upwards. This represents how the Cut Off filter reacts up and down the keyboard. You will obviously need to have a Filter active and it works best with the Low Pass 2, 4 and Daft filters.
The KTR FLT in Massive becomes very handy with bass sounds. For instance, if you have a bass patch that sounds great in one octave and then starts to sound more like a lead in another, you may need to adjust the KTR FLT. Turn it down so it stays the same for all octaves. This same idea can be applied to lead sounds.
