This New Keyboard Makes Learning Piano Easy

In this video we watch a demo of DODEKA, an electronic keyboard that reinvents the wheel of the typical chromatic configuration seen on traditional keyboards. Instead of having black and white keys separated by height, it lays out each key in a uniform fashion.

DODEKA is a new music system that simplifies playing and composing music. The system introduces an innovative keyboard layout where all keys are set at the same level. With DODEKA, playing the piano becomes an intuitive and pleasant journey.

The goal of this keyboard layout is to provide a simplified approach to playing the instrument, removing the additional learning curve of integrating the height differences sharp and flat notes. For those that have grown up playing with these black keys, this layout may seem counter-intuitive; however, we could definitely see how this would be helpful for someone that’s learning keyboard for the first time.
