This Custom Instrument Uses Multi-Touch Expression With Sensel Morph
In this video from Tim Thompson, we watch a demo of his Space Palette Pro, a customized instrument built by Thompson that takes advantage of the Sensel Morph multi-touch MIDI controller.
From the video’s description:
The touchscreen is used for selecting presets and shows a preview of what would normally be displayed on a larger monitor or projector screen.
The Space Pallete Pro is a parent to his first Space Pallete creation, taking advantage of Microsoft Kinect to track user’s hand motions throughout a wooden frame. With each motion, the user can not only control sound expressions such as vibrato and filtering, but also can create visual graphics with each movement.
Thompson’s Space Pallette has been debuted as various Burning Man festivals, as well as various music tech conventions. You can visit this website to learn more about the Space Pallette.
