The "Velotone" Is A Bicycle Powered Step-Sequencer & Synthesizer
In this video from Youtuber thenervoussquirrel, we get a demo of Velotone, a bicycle-powered step-sequencer and synthesizer. Aside from the poor video quality, this bicycle synth is absolutely stunning and we just had to share it!
From information provided in the video’s description, we learn about how the Velotone works:
A magnet attached to the rear wheel passes a reed switch, which sends a pulse to an 8-stage sequencer mounted on the handlebars. Depending on the speed of the cyclist, the sequencer plays 8 tunable oscillators, and also controls a Coron DS-7 drum machine.
If you were as fascinated with the Velotone bicycle synth as we were, you might enjoy checking out this website for more details and pictures of the project.
