The therapKid Is A Chiptune Synthesizer Based Upon The C-64 Sound Chip
Twisted-Electrons has introduced therapKid, a duo-phonic (2 voices, 4 oscillators) chiptune synthesizer that is designed to emulate the SID sound chip found in the Commodore 64 8bit home computer from the early 80s.
The first generation of SID (6581) had a wonderful gritty distorted filter but the later 8580 had a much stronger filter (more resonance). TherapKid offers a digital take on the best of both worlds with a strong filter resonance and 6581-like gritty tone.
