The Playroom Is An "Interactive Synthesizer Space" With 1000's of Synthesizers
In this video from smem (Swiss Museum & Center for Electronic Music Instruments), we get acquainted with The Playroom, an interactive synthesizer space that is seeking help on Kickstarter to fund the large repository of synthesizers and instruments being offered to public, such as with private recordings, events, and parties.
From information provided in the Kickstarter page:
- Will I receive guidance when using the playroom?
- Yes. A trained student, who is passionate about synthesizers, will constantly be present in The Playroom to guide potential novices in the use of these instruments. But if you wish to play on your own, that will obviously be possible as well.
- Which synthesizers and effects will be in the playroom?
- Good question! The gear on display will be subject to regular changes. The complete list of instruments that can be used in The Playroom will be available on our website.
The definitive list of instruments present for the first session is not yet defined (most likely vintage synths and modular stuff!). To be honest, we don’t really know yet… but don’t you worry, it will be like nothing you’ve ever seen, and will feature the kind of instruments that not many people have at home.
If The Playroom were to come to life, it would certainly offer an incredible experience for the music world – from beginner musicians to diehard synth enthusiasts. You can visit the Kickstarter page to learn more about the project.
