The Modulin: Violin + Modular Synthesizer

In this video from Wintergatan frontman Martin Molin, we get a demonstration of The Modulin, a hybrid of both a violin and a modular synthesizer. It’s certainly not the most ergonomic or lightweight of instruments, however it lends itself to some pretty powerful sounds.

It’s also super cool that he goes into detail in regards to how The Modulin works, providing sound demos of each manipulation to the synth’s parameters and explaining exactly why the certain sounds occur. In addition, Molin is always good at requesting feedback from Wintergatan fans, which is nice to see with artists.
