Roland JUPITER-8 vs. SYSTEM-8
In this video from gattobus, we get to hear the vintage Roland Jupiter-8 play alongside the Roland SYSTEM-8, a poly synth that is heavily inspired by the Jupiter-8 and other classic synths.
From the video’s description:
A little improvisation with the mighty beast of synthesizers, Roland JUPITER-8 and its modern counterpart SYSTEM-8 (in JP-8 mode). […] Well, I think they blend together perfectly, I love them both!!!
In our opinion (at least in this video), the Roland Jupiter-8 definitely has more of a washy, everlasting tone to it – whereas the SYSTEM-8 is more prominent, with each note packing a punch and striking through the previous. Both of the synths sound phenomenal and it’s nice to hear them mixed together.
