NAMM 2018: Roland Announces VST Recreations of TR-808 and TR-909
Roland has extended Roland Cloud, an online platform for providing users VST and AU plugins, with the release of TR-808 and TR-909 VST/AU software recreations. Roland will be debuting these two plugins, as well as the new SRX Orchestra plugin, at the 2018 NAMM show.
Given the ubiquity of the Roland TR-808 and TR-909 drum machines in pop culture, it’s special that there are finally software recreations of these instruments from Roland Corporation itself.
The Roland SRX Orchestra plugin, the third of the three new plugins for Roland Cloud, is the first of Roland’s famed SRX Expansion Library to be made available as individual virtual instruments. SRX Orchestra complements the recent release of the JV-1080, bringing more of the distinctive sound of 90s-era Roland instruments to Roland Cloud, and is sure to be popular with composers and producers worldwide.
