4 Ways to Eliminate Bad Frequencies
In this tutorial we show you how to eliminate bad frequencies! This is very important to know if you want to have clean mixes. When you have a track with many stems with bad frequencies they will add up to a muddy sounding mix.
1. EQ – We explain how to scan through your tracks using an EQ with an Analyzer and find the problem areas. This also includes cutting out frequencies below 100
2. De-Esser – We open the Fab Filter Pro-DS to explain how to use a De-Esser to cut out bad frequencies.
3. Waves C1 Sidechain – We use this great old school plug in to show you how to isolate bad frequencies and draw them down. Using this plug in is great as opposed to straight EQ because we can control the bad frequencies much more.
4. Multiband compression – This is an amazing way to get rid of bad frequencies by compressing different bands of the sound. A fun and very powerful technique. A great option to have to shape sounds.
