Tips for Using Reverb - Maschine Mixing Tutorial
In this video, I cover some examples of using reverb in a mixing environment. Using only the factory reverb effects, I talk about the options of reverb as a stand-out, creative effect or as a subtle addition to the overall feel of your project.
First, I show how to use reverb on your main instruments or samples to place them in a larger acoustic space. You can experiment with different reverb modes and amounts to change the feel of this space.
Second, I show a creative use of reverb using a snare sample. Playing this reverb-drenched snare once in a while keeps the drums interesting.
Finally, I talk about adding reverb on the drum group to place all of the individual sounds in a coherent space. This has the effect of subtly gluing everything together in the mix.
