Snare Sound Design With Maschine
In this Maschine tutorial, learn how to layer sounds, use mixing, and offset samples to create a full snare.
When working on a project, it can be difficult to find the right snare sample. In this video, learn how to layer different sounds and mix them together to create a fitting, full snare. I recommend layering samples of different characteristics. That is, choose slightly different samples to mix together, rather than layering two nearly identical snares. I show how you can experiment with dynamic effects on each layer as well as mixing and panning to bring the overall sound together.
Next, I show a neat technique for adding an offset sound that plays slightly after the main snare attack. By using the sample edit menu and pad link, I add in an offset clap that really fills out the snare.
