Velocity Sensitivity and Fixed Velocity In Maschine
This quick tip will help you understand Maschine’s velocity settings, including velocity sensitivity and fixed velocity for groups and sounds.
By default, Maschine enables velocity sensitivity: the harder you strike the pad, the louder the resulting sound. This allows for expressive playing when finger drumming or recording. However, at times it is beneficial to disable this sensitivity. To do so, we can enter into fixed velocity in the Pad Mode menu.
The Pad Mode menu allows you to set all sounds in a group to a fixed velocity. If you just want to work with individual sounds, you can change the sampler’s parameters to achieve the same effect. I show how this process works by setting a snare to fixed velocity while keeping the rest of the drum sounds velocity sensitive.
