In this week’s quick tip for Maschine, learn how to use a MIDI controller to play multiple sounds at once, rather than just pitches of a single sound.
By default, plugging a MIDI controller into Maschine will allow you to play different notes of your selected sound slot. This is useful if you have a keyboard – for example, you could select a specific instrument with the Maschine and then record melodic elements with your MIDI keyboard.
However, if you want to play all 16 sounds at once, the default MIDI behavior is not very usable. In this video, I show how to use batch MIDI setup to map each sound slot to a different MIDI note. This allows you to control all 16 sounds simply by playing different notes on your MIDI controller.
