Sidechain Gate Effects in MASCHINE

In this tutorial, we take a look at using the sidechain input of Maschine’s built-in gate effect to create rhythmic effects with sounds and groups.

This tutorial focuses on sidechain gate effects. Using the sidechain input of Maschine’s built-in gate effect we can create rhythmic effects with sounds and groups. Using the sidechain input on the gain effect is a lot like using the sidechain input on the compressor, but with different results.

In addition to exploring sidechain gate effects, we look at varying the inputs, or sources, of the signal routed into the effect’s sidechain input. This allows us to build up complex grooves, allowing the sounds and groups interact, rather than just layering them on top of one another.
