Maschine - Internal Sampling Explained
In this tutorial for Maschine 2, learn how to use internal sampling to layer drum sounds and create groups for live performances.
Internal sampling is a great way to work with audio in Maschine. First, we show how to layer two kick drum samples onto one pad. This allows us to easily add effects and work with a single sound rather than a pair, which can sometimes be cumbersome.
Next, we show how to use internal sampling to form the foundations of a performance group. We sample a sequenced melody and bassline onto open pads located in the drum group. By doing this, we can play the drums live while triggering the melody and bassline in real time. For more developed performances, try sampling short musical phrases rather than entire loops.
