More Workflows for Maschine 2 and Ableton: Freeze and Flatten
Maschine 2 and Ableton Live can play together in efficient, flexible, and powerful workflows. This tutorial covers using the Maschine 2 VST and Ableton’s Freeze and Flatten abilities for VSTs.
In this tutorial, using the Maschine 2 VST in Ableton is covered. As many instances of the Maschine 2 VST that the computer’s processor can handle can be loaded in Ableton on MIDI tracks. Ableton can then freeze any of these tracks, effectively replacing them temporarily with an audio -only version, or flattened, permanently and seamlessly replacing them with audio.
Obviously it’s a great way to save a ton of CPU, which allows you to do much more. It allows for editing of MIDI patterns within the Maschine 2 VST and/or Ableton Live, and/or direct manipulation of audio in Ableton Live. This combination makes for a very efficient and very powerful workflow. One more way to work smarter, not harder!
A previous tutorial covered workflows using the Maschine 2 standalone application and Ableton Live. Make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for all of our Maschine tutorials.
